Carpooling is a great way to save money, help the environment, and create a more enjoyable commute to work or school.
Get Started
To form a carpool, you'll need to find 1-7 people that live and work near you and have a similar daily commute. Fortunately, there are tools and resources to make this process easier. We suggest creating an account online or with the app at CommuterConnectMI.org. You can search for existing carpool groups or choose to start your own. Carpool groups collectively make important decisions like:
- Whose vehicle to use
- How to split the cost of gas
- The best route to take
- What radio stations to listen to
Even better, your employer may have a convenient, designated carpool parking spot already waiting for you!
After signing up with CommuterConnectMI.org, post notices at work and talk to friends and co-workers. Chances are, someone is looking for the same opportunity. Your notice should include your starting points, start time and stop time, and your phone number or email. Check with your employer's human resources department. They may be able to help you find appropriate co-workers.
