TheRide Announces Service Adjustments - Set to Begin April 30

ANN ARBOR, MI – The Ann Arbor Area Transportation Authority (TheRide) is making service adjustments beginning Sunday, April 30, 2023. These service adjustments are to improve service reliability of its routes.

The service updates that begin on Sunday, April 30 include timepoint adjustments and seasonal schedule changes that coincide with the Spring and Summer semesters on the campuses of Eastern Michigan University and the University of Michigan.

The service updates are:

Route 4: Washtenaw

  • Multiple timepoints will be adjusted
  • Spring/Summer schedule goes into effect

Route 23: Plymouth

  • Multiple timepoints will be adjusted on weekday schedules

Route 32: Miller - Maple

To Blake Transit Center:

  • Blake Transit Center arrival timepoints will be adjusted

Route 43: E. Michigan Ave

To Ypsilanti Transit Center:

  • Ypsilanti Transit Center arrival timepoints will be adjusted

Route 46: Huron – Paint Creek:

  • Routing and timepoints adjusted on trips serving Arbor Preparatory High School 

Route 62: UM - State

  • Spring/Summer schedule goes into effect

Passengers can view the updated route schedules in TheRide’s route and schedule booklets or at TheRide.org TheRide reminds the community that mobile ticketing makes it even more convenient to ride and trips are only $1.50 each way or only $3.00 for an all-day pass. Reduced fares are available for those who qualify. Bus stops now have updated route signs with bus stop information for TheRide’s Text My Bus service, which gives you up to date information on when your bus will arrive to your bus stop with a simple text message.

To help reduce the spread of COVID-19, TheRide continues to enforce the established preventive measures to keep both riders and drivers safe:

  • Customers are encouraged to wear a face mask, but not required
  • The driver is to be approached for emergencies only.
  • Buses are cleaned with CDC-recommended protocols.
  • Plastic barriers are added to separate drivers and riders on fixed-route buses.
  • Sanitation supplies are provided to employees.
  • Masks, gloves and face shields are provided for drivers’ use.
  • Lost and Found collection has been temporarily suspended.
