Park and Ride
There is a simple, easy, and inexpensive alternative to parking in Ann Arbor: park free all day at one of AATA’s Park & Ride lots and ride the bus into work or school. Many of your friends, colleagues, and neighbors are already using the bus to avoid parking hassles.
Using the Park & Ride Lots Offers You:
- Free Parking.
- Low-cost bus fares.
- Up to $1050 per year savings on a monthly parking permit at city-owned structures (up to $1500 a year if you have a go!pass!).
- Convenient bus schedules for commuters.
- Direct service to downtown and University of Michigan (UM) campuses.
Plan out your bus trip using the links to the maps/schedules below and compare that to the time it takes to drive downtown or campus and hunt for a parking space – you may be surprised! AATA’s Park & Ride may be the answer for an easier commute!
We would be happy to come to your workplace to talk about commuting options (including Park & Ride lots, bus service and carpooling/vanpooling options). Call AATA Community Relations at 734-973-6500 to schedule an appointment. We’ll give you answers to your commuting questions!

1. Obtain a hangtag from AATA. There is no charge for the hangtag.
2. Park only in the designated Park & Ride spaces.
3. Hang the hangtag from the rearview mirror of the vehicle so it is plainly visible.
4. The hangtag has an expiration date. It is the responsibility of the user to contact the AATA at least 30 days prior to the expiration to obtain a new hangtag. A vehicle with an expired hangtag is subject to being ticketed.
